Children’s Book Illustrator, Picture Book Illustrator, Children’s Book Layout Artist, Children’s Book Design

From a cat in a hat knocking at the front door, to Mike Mulligan and his trusty steam shovel, without a doubt I count my early childhood encounters with books, along with the animation of Chuck Jones and Warner Brothers, as primary influences on my work.

Looking back, my love affair with books started long before I could even read the words on my own, and I think that’s a testament to the power of children’s books in general. Not just their longevity, but their capacity to spark young imaginations in ways that pay a lifetime’s worth of dividends. For me, working in the children’s illustration genre is a personal favorite, both for the playful language as well as the wonderful opportunities for art that children’s book illustration provides.”

Children’s Book Illustration From Concept, To Illustration, To Print Ready Layout

I’m always happy to partner with other creators to help bring their children’s and young adult content to life. Sometimes this takes the form of character development and helping to flush out ideas, and at other times illustration to match a completed manuscript. Perhaps as a result of my early exposure to layout and design in the magazine and newspaper markets, I tend to illustrate inclusive of graphic design and page layout and carry this through straight to print-ready product, but can provide children’s book illustration alone as well.
